I’m Aleye

I’m curious by nature. About people, mostly. Why we do what we do, how we become who we are, and why two people can live through the same thing and come away with completely different stories about it.

I notice things. I ask questions. I have a habit of taking a perfectly ordinary observation and think about it for considerably longer than necessary. Occasionally something useful comes out of it. Other times I just end up with more questions.

I read a lot, usually with several books on the go because committing to one at a time seems unnecessarily restrictive.

I like conversations that go somewhere, the kind that start with one thing and somehow end up three subjects away with both people wondering how they got there. I like a bit of depth, but I’m suspicious of unnecessary seriousness. There’s usually room for humour.

I like quiet. I enjoy people who make me think, and I’m comfortable saying I don’t know. I’m also quite happy to change my mind when I discover I was wrong.
